Tips for Making Your Dental Whitening Last As Long As Possible

Tips for Making Your Dental Whitening Last As Long As PossibleIf you have just had your teeth whitened, there are things you can do to make it last as long as possible. We want to help you keep your teeth white, and have the best oral hygiene possible.

How To Keep Your Teeth White

We suggest you pay attention to what you eat and drink. By just doing that, you can keep your teeth white after your in-office whitening treatment. Avoid colored fruit juices, wine, coffee, and tea. These beverages commonly stain your teeth. If you must drink one of these beverages, consider using a straw so that these beverages make it to your throat faster and do not linger on your teeth. In just about any social situation, it is culturally acceptable to drink water. Choose water over beverages that could potentially stain your teeth. You could also use water to rinse your mouth after you eat or drink. By just removing food debris and plaque, your teeth will stay whiter.

You should also pay attention to your oral hygiene. By brushing your teeth at least twice a day, you will keep your teeth wait. Carry a toothbrush in your purse or backpack so you can brush your teeth away from home. Use a whitening toothpaste. Make sure to floss your teeth as well.

Give up habits like smoking cigarettes or chewing tobacco. These products are known to discolor your teeth. Chew sugar free gum, drink water, and enjoy foods that are good for your teeth in place of these harmful habits.

Maintain Your Dental Exams

Probably the most important thing you can do is come to your dental cleaning and exam every six months. At that appointment we will professionally clean and polish your teeth. Removing surface stains can help to keep your teeth white.
